HISAR: A Congress member of Raya Sabha and a key dissident leader of Haryana Shamsher Singh Surjewala March 19 expressed the apprehension that the proposed meeting among Prime Minister P.Y Narasimha Rao Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh and Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal on the SYL canal issue scheduled for March 25 may NOL Materialize

Talking to media persons here Surjewala said that the March 25 Meeting may meet the same fate as the one which was stated for March VW.

Surjewala said that the Prime Minister was keen on guarding the interests of the state but someone from the state had to take the initiative

He wondered that if the Podol and issue could be solved why a solution could not be found to the SYL problem. Surjewala favored the immediate construction of a state Capital to enable the state to develop its own identity culture and traditions

He said that Haryanavis were gradually being reduced to second-class citizens.
