KOTA (PTI): With the arrest of four persons including three Indian Oil Corporation (10C) officials’ police appeared to have solved the mystery of sudden explosions in kerosene which claimed 25 lives in Kota division of Rajasthan last week.
The deputy inspector general police Kota Range A.K Jain said the explosions occurred because the kerosene had become highly inflammable after a petrol tanker was emptied in its tank at the IOC depot.
The IOC officials who were in full knowledge of the blunder committed on Feb.15 allowed the mixture of petrol and Kerosene to be supplied he said.
The adulterated kerosene supply continued till February 18 and Stopped only briefly to be resumed from March 4
He said the IOC officials tried to hush up the inadvertent emptying of petrol info kerosene tank by tampering records.
