Wadhawa Singh Babbar Chief of Babbar Khalsa International has issued a press statement denying that any Govt in Pakistan had their helped the Sikhs in their current.
Following is the full text of his Statement:
Babbar Khalsa International wants to clarify its stance vis-a-vis the debate generated in Pakistani media by the recent interview given by Benazir Bhutto to BBC
i wish to state categorically that the Sikh nation is conducting its Struggle with its own strength. No country including Pakistan has ever provided any help to the Sikhs in this struggle.
He said that the Sikhs stained their struggle in response to the realization that they had been reduced to slaves to the Hindus and motivated by the desire to regain their freedom not because of any prompting by any foreign power. Ever since the start of this struggle India is conducting the malicious and false propaganda that Pakistan is helping the Sikhs. We fully agree with the statement by Benazir Bhutto that the Sikhs would have made appreciable progress by now if Pakistan Govt had been helping them although the sympathies of the people of Pakistan are with Khalistan movement the situation would have been quite different if any Govt of Pakistan had reflected the wishes of its people. Not only would Khalistan and Kashmir have been liberated by now the tragedy of Babri Masjid and the ongoing excesses on the Indian Muslims too would not have been possible. Newspaper reports tell us that the Sikh’s struggle for freedom has been crushed the fact is that Khalistan movement has not come to an end. The struggle for freedom from the Hindu Slavery is continuing even though like any struggle it does have its ups and downs
Some Newspapers are giving the impression that because of some Sikh Gurdwaras being in Pakistan the Sikhs will lay claim to some territories of Pakistan after achieving independence
The Sikh nation in conjunction with India has already taken its due share of territory whatever we are to claim now will be claimed from India. We have yet to claim even an inch of Pakistani territories.
AS for the issue of Gurdwaras Sikhs always prays to be able to visit and serve those The Muslims do go to Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage to the holy shrines of Islam but they do not lay claim to Saudi territories. Similarly we will come to Pakistan for pilgrimage to our holy places but the idea of laying claim to Pakistani territory will never enter the mind of any Sikh.
We will ever remain grateful to the people of Pakistan for the love good will and moral support we get from them. Relation between Khalistan and Pakistan will therefore ever remain friendly.
We appeal to the Govt of Pakistan to reflect the feelings of its people and give us all possible help because India is the enemy ‘of both Pakistan and Khalistan.
The whole world knows that India has thrown overboard all side rations of human rights Subjected the people of Punjab and Kashmir to all forms of atrocities.
We praise the forceful portrayal by Benazir Bhutto at Geneva recently of the suppression of human nights in Kashmir but she did not make any mention of the atrocities being perpetrated on the Sikhs in Punjab.
Why? We too are human beings after all! The excesses on the Sikhs in the Punjab too are violations of human rights the entire Sikh nation therefore expects that the Government of Pakistan will not fail to raise in the international forums the question of Sikh human rights.
