NEW DELHI (PTI): The term of the Jain commission probing the conspiracy aspect of the assassination of former Indian premier Rajiv Gandhi has been extended by another six months till August 31 this year.
The term of the one-man panel was to have expired on Feb.28. The commission has been asked by the home ministry to submit its report to the center as soon as possible but not later than Aug.31 an official release said.
Rajiv Gandhi was killed in a bomb blast in Sriperumbudur in the southern state of Tamil Nadu in May 1991.
