DHAKA: In a stunning statement Sheikh Hasina Wajid daughter of founder of Bangladesh has dubbed Indo-Bangla treaty as an instrument of Bangladesh slavery and has called for its abrogation.
Wajid is President of Awami League the main opposition party of Bangladesh. The treaty she said was not one of friendship but one that perpetuated slavery for the smaller nations.
Wajid also demanded Bangladesh’s proper share in the Ganga water and said that India’s refusal had been rendering non them part of her country barren. She believes that her stand had the approval of the people of Bangladesh.
