NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Madan Lal Khurana has demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) should register cases against the 21 persons accused in the 1984 riots case within three weeks.
Ina letter to Minister of State for Home Rajesh Pilot Mr. Khurana Said These cases have been pending with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the last many years and are being put off On some pretext Or the other. If these cases are not registered by the CBI it the next 15 -20 days then Delhi Police must take action in this regard.
The 21 names include several politicians one of them being Delhi Congress Pradesh Committee President H.K.L. Bhagat and Congress MP from Outer Delhi Mr. Sujan Kumar In the first place after the Government had accepted the report of Jain Aggarwal Committee the FIR against the 21 persons should have been lodged by the Delhi Police. But it passed the matter to the CBI Khurana said.
