CHANDIGARH: The Punjab government ordered a major reshuffle in the police administration and transferred senior superintendents of nine police districts, besides effecting changes at the higher level.
This is the first major exercise in the police department undertaken by the Chief Minister, Harcharan Singh Brar, after taking over the reigns of the state.
Gurbachan Jagat, Additional Director General of Police cum Managing Director, Punjab Police Housing Corporation, has been posed us ADGP (Administration). G.S, Bhullar, ADGP (Intelligence) has been posted as the Managing Director of the Punjab.
Police Housing Corporation. S.K. Verma, awaiting posting orders, has been posted as ADGP(Home Guards) vice Jamail Singh Chahal posted as ADGP (Vigilance Bureau), Sarabjit Singh, ADGP(Compater) and S.V. Singh, ADGP (Security), swap places, M.P.S, Aulakh, Inspector General of Police (Vigilance Bureau) has been given the charge of IPG (Intelligence). The deputy inspectors general of two police ranges have also been shifted, S.S. Bhullar, DIG, Patiala Range, has been transferred as DIG, Ferozepur Range, in place of R.C.Pmsad, posted as DIG (Litigation) vice M.M. Kapur. Chander Shekhar, DIG (PAPTraining), Jalandhar would head the Patiala Range, Kapurhas been appointed DIG (Provisioning) vice H.R, Chadha posted as DIG (Crime) in place of P.M. Dass, Dass has been transferred to Jalandhar as DIG (PAP Administration) replacing Lalit Bhatia posted as DIG (PAP Training).
Gurcharan Singh, Superintendent of Police (Investigation) at the headquarters is the new Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran vice A.K. Sharma. Rohit Chaudhary, SSP, Batala, replaces H.S. Chahal as SSP, Patiala. Chahal has been posted as SSP, Sangrur, against 8 vacant post. Prabodh Kumar, Commandant, 9th Bn, PAP, Amritsar, has been transferred as SSP, Batala, P.S. Gill, SSP, Bathinda, has been posted as SSP, Fatehgarh Sahib vice Gurdev Singh shifted as SSP, Khanna vice A,K. Mittal. Mohkam Singh, SP (Detective), Patiala replaces Gill as SSP, Bathinda. Mohammad Mustafa, SSP, Ropar, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 9th Bn, PAP, Amnitsar,
RP, Singh, SP (CD), is the new SSP of Ropar. Hardeep Singh Dhillon, SSP, Ludhiana, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 2nd Bn, IRB, Ladda Kothi, against a vacant post, A.K. Sharma, SSP, Tarn Taran, has been posted in place of Dhillon at Ludhiana.
A.K. Mittal, SSP, Khanna, has been transferred as Commandant, 2nd Commando Bn, Mohali. A.K. Bhawra, AIG, Welfare, has been posted as SP, Intelligence.
