CHANDIGARH? The major threat to India is not from its neighbors Pakistan and China but the United States, says Mr. K.P.S. Gill, who retired as Director-general of Punjab Police on December 31.
“India’s emergence as a major force is obviously not to the liking of the USA,” remarked Mr, Gill in an informal chat with members of the Chandigarh Hockey Association, Rock Rovers Hockey Club and senior officials of the Customs and Excise Commission rate at Chandigarh Press club last week.
Accompanied by his wife, Mr. Gill looked relaxed as he talked about various aspects of security and the IST designs in India.
“The ISI has a game plan to target VVIPs, including the Prime Minister, in India, When the ISI knows for a year the venues where the Prime Minister is to come, security has to be: accordingly planned,” he commented probably in reference to large-scale recovery of RDX in Punjab and the surrounding areas.
Mr. Gill holds that no security in the world is “impregnable.” Referring to the USA, he said that no one could match the technological advancement in warfare the United States had made.
