HYDERABAD: In a display of force Army personnel of the Ninth Garhwal Rifles attacked the Langar Houz police station in the city and thrashed an Assistant Commissioner of Police a inspector and two Sub-Inspectors before: bundling them into an Army vehicle on Feb.2
The attack was sequel to the finding of bodies in a well of two children reported missing since Monday. They were children of a havaldar working in Jabalpur.
The enraged Army men also set fire to 12 houses abutting the military area. According to eyewitnesses about40 Amy men carrying automatic weapons descended on the police station at 11a.m The defense personnel who were in an agitated mood attacked the police Station and started assaulting the police staff The Shingara division ACP Y.Srihari Inspector V.Madanmohan Rao and SI Raj who were present in the station were brutally assaulted.
The Army men snatched the cpaulcttes of policemen before belaboring them soundly as 4 couple of policemen who were present in the station watched helplessly.
