HYDERABADNEW DELHI: General Officer Commanding Maj General B.N. Kapur on Feb.4 tendered a formal apology to Andra Pradesh Governor Krishan Kant over the incident in which he was gheraoed surrounded and roughed up by the enraged wives of Army men in the barracks on Thursday.
Mr. Krishna Kant had to face the wrath of the women when he had gone to the barracks to visit the family of a jawan whose two children were found in a well on Wednesday. The deaths had triggered violent attacks by the Army men on a police station and civilian houses in the Langar House area.
The apology by the GOC and Statement by the Army that the joint inquiry committee set up to probe all aspects of the clash had identified the Army personnel involved were the two specific developments on Friday.
Hyderabad city Police Commissioner H J. Dora has reiterated that there was no doubt that Amy Jawans were involved in the arson at Mohammad Lines and that it had been carried out in a planned and systematic manner.
We have a large number of witnesses who have testified to the Army attacking and burning the houses Dora said.
Meanwhile it is learned that the forensic experts who conducted an autopsy on the two boys have reached a preliminary conclusion that the boys were tortured before they died. Later their bodies were dumped in the well near their houses
Dora said the cause of the deaths would be known only after the complete autopsy report was submitted by the forensic experts
