JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata party general Secretary Krishan Lal Sharma has demanded giving a free hand to the security forces in Kashmir to deal with the militants.
Talking to newsmen here on Jan.31 Sharma said that together with giving a free hand the Center should evolve a comprehensive joint strategy in consultation with all the political parties to deal with the Kashmir problem.
Welcoming the visit of the Union Home Minister S.B.Chavan to Jammu and Doda district the BJP leader urged the Prime Minister who would be handling the Kashmir affairs onwards to visit all the three regions of the state to have a feel of the prevailing situation.
He demanded that an all-party meeting on Jammu and Kashmir should be convened soon to chalk out a joint action plan which could give a well-thought ‘Out Common strategy to avoid contradictions in the stand taken by various government functionaries.
He said that his party was for ‘Starting of political process in the troubled state leading to the installation of a democratic elected government.
Sharma was of the view that India should clearly rule out holding of plebiscite in J and K as the state was an integral part of the country. This should also be made very clear that there would be no going back on the pre-1953 position and any outside interference even by any Super power would not be tolerated.
Mean While Chaman Lal Gupta state president of the party said that a state-level Workers meeting would beheld atJammuonFeb.19-20 to highlight the discrimination against the Jammu region and demand for handing over Doda to Army.
