FREMONT: The Sikh Sangat of Bay Area lauded the World Sikh News for its bold projection of the Sikh cause and the exposure of the Indian government’s abuse of human rights in Punjab and Kashmir.

Speaking on the occasion of the completion of an Akand Path’ at the Gurdwara eminent Sikhs of the area congratulated the editor-in chief Dr Gurinder Singh Grewal for his grit and determination in converting the paper into the true voice of the Sikh community. Dr. Ajit Singh Sandhu said for the last 10 years the World Sikh News has been leading the Sikh struggle for the liberation of Sikhs and inspite of many attempts by the Indian Government to stifle it the paper has been leading a relentless crusade to counter Indian propaganda. He added it has through its columns educated the legislators and Leaders of this country and our own community about the true facts which led to the Sikh demand for Khalistan and the injustices suffered at the hands of Indian rulers who were out to destroy the Sikhs. He appealed to the Sikh Sangat to subscribe to the paper and extend Support to it Sardar Balbir Singh Ragi praised the paper for its frank and truthful reporting. He said the ‘Sikhs in India are passing through a period of great crisis and have been oppressed by the government it is imperative for us to have a powerful media to project our cause and expose the atrocities which the un Democratic regime is perpetuating: upon our brethren there He called upon the Sikhs here to whole heartedly support the World Sikh News and strengthen it to counter the misinformation campaign of the Indian press which had painted all Sikhs as terrorist and criminals.

Speaking on behalf of the newspaper Dr.Gurinder Singh Grewal appreciated the support extended to the paper and sought full cooperation of the Sikh Sangat. He said the World Sikh News has always spoken fearlessly on issues affecting the Sikhs and will continue to do so. He further said that World Sikh News stood for an independent Sikh Nation without which Sikhs can never expect justice The newspaper he said was not aligned to any party or organization. The Management of paper had resolved that anyone not supporting Independence for the Sikhs would not be associated with the paper. The paper has always indulged in honest and truthful reporting. Earlier in the morning the Akhand Path was completed at 9:39 a.m after this the audience moved to the ‘Diwan Hall’ where the congregation heard devotional music and Shabads from Kirtan Jathas one of which haled from Banga Punjab. Bhai Jagjit Singh the head granthi of the gurdwara read the *Hukam nama* and beautifully explained its meaning to the congregation. He also read out the Ardas. The Akhand Path had been organized to seek the blessing of Waheguru Lord Almighty for the victory of the Sikh Panth and success of the World Sikh News
