CHANDIGARH: The Indian Intelligence Agency -IB and Punjab police have mercilessly tortured a Muslim youth Mr. Nisar Ahmed and pressurized him to confess before video-cameras that he has strong links with the Kashmir Punjab militants and Inter Ser vices intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan. According to reliable sources Mr.Nisar Ahmad was arrested while he was selling Kashmir made garments in the middle of December last from Jalandhar on the pretext that his movements seems to be suspicious Later on the Punjab police and Intelligence Bureau (IB) officials tortured him to ascertain details regarding the militants outfits in Punjab and Kashmir.
The Punjab Police detained Mr Nisar Ahmed in illegal custody till Jan.4, 1994. He was then booked in a case of scooter-theft n FIR No 17 dated 8/2/92. Under section 382/34 of Indian Penal Code in Police Station Lambadha District Jalandhar When Nisar Ahmed was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate B.R. Bansal the magistrate refused to give remand of Nisar Ahmed the Punjab Police there after booked Ahmed in another false case of harboring militants
On Jan.11 the puppet Government of Indian Punjab under the Leader ship of Chief Minister Beant Singh ordered the arrest of media-persons of a Punjabi Daily Aj Di-Awaz published from Jalandhar as it supports the Khalistan movement and writes daringly /boldly against the human rights violations in Punjab. ‘The Punjab Police arrested eight persons from the premises of Aj Di-Awaz which included Jasbir Singh Rode Chief trustee and Gurdip Singh Managing Editor. Later on Senior Superintendent of Police Jalandhar) displayed a video-cassette on January 22 before the media-persons showing Nisar Ahmed making a confession that he has strong links with Kashmir and Punjab militants According to the testimony given by Nisar Ahmed the premises of Aj-Di Awaz was used on a regular basis for dumping explosives and weapons communicating with the militants and providing shelter to Pakistani agents Kashmiri and Sikh militants on @ number of occasions. Regular conspiracies had been hatched within the premises of the newspaper office to provoke violence in Punjab and other parts of India.
Sources revealed that the Indian Government wanted to lodge the media-persons of Aj-Di-Awaz and for this reason Nisar Ahmed has been tortured to make a confession as per the instructions of Police before the video-camera Meanwhile Amarjit Singh Shergill advocate of Nisar Ahmed has strongly denied reports that his client has any type of links with Punjab-Kashmir’s militants. He said that the Punjab Police has registered a fake case on baseless allegations against Nisar Ahmed. He said that Nisar has told him that he (Nisar) doesn’t even know what Aj-Di-Awaz means and who Jasbir Singh Rode Gurdip Singh and others are.
