AMRITSAR; The Akali Dal Mann has resolved to continue peaceful democratic struggle for the achievement of its aim of sovereign Sikh state.
The party said in a press release after a seven-hour marathon meeting last week that the office-bearers working Committee members Circle and district presidents and activists held a “free and frank” discussion on party’s policy matters as Well as the Punjab situation. The general consensus was in favor of party continuing the struggle for achievement of the aim the activists of Bhoma action of All India Sikh Students Federation were also present
The meeting was presided over by the Senior Vice-President Sant Ajit Singh in the absence of party President Simranjit Singh Mann who is presently under detention.
The party condemned the detention of Mann and demanded his release before the “Magi” Fair at Muktsar on Jan.14.
The party in a resolution decided Hot 16 join hands with Akali faction of Sikh organization in having a joint conference on the occasion of ‘Magi fair unless such party or organizations considered Mann as its leader and supported the demand of sovereign Sikh state
The party thanked 23 USA Congressmen for support to the Sikh abuse and welcomed their move of writing a letter to the US President Mr Bill Clinton asking him to exert pressure on India for resolving Sikh issues.
The party decided to activate its activities by holding conferences in all the districts of Punjab. The Program for such conferences would be calked-out after the Magahi Fair The party mourned the death of Baba Joginder Singh father of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale
