LUDHIANA: Ajmer Singh Lakhowal and Gurbachan Singh Bahamian president and vice-president respectively of the BKJU were sent to judicial custody till Jan.14
Lakhowal and Bharmian who were amested in October and had since been ordered to be released on bail had not furnished the sureties for release on bail because of fear of re arrest by the police. Even the police party was waiting in the courts complex to re arrest them
Lakhowal and Bharmian were arrested first on October 9,1993 when they were going to participate in the bhog at Gurdwara Alamgir in connection with the death anniversary of Sukha and Jinda assassins of General Vaidya. They were arrested under Section 107/154 for the apprehension of breach and the peace. They were released on October 10 but were rearrested immediately on the same day in connection with a case registered against Lakhowal and Bharmian and other BKU leaders.
