PALAMPUR: IK. Sud Director World Bank and Industrial Adviser in World Bank for South East Asia USA was allegedly harassed by the police at Dehara Gopi pur because his privateer could not give side to the jeep of Sub divisional Magistrate Dehara Gopi pur coming from opposite side as road at that point was narrow.
Sud in the premises of Bondla Tea Estate here said that soon after the incident a police party accompanying the SDM stopped his car impounded papers of his vehicle and asked him to come to the police station He said police men tamed down all his requests.
Later the incident was brought to the notice of Sant Ram H.P. Forest Exercise and Taxation Minister. Sant Ram and local MLA Brij Burtail visited Tehara Gopi pur and got back all documents of the car of senior World Bank official. Both leaders termed the incident unfortunate.
SDO Dehara police station admitted before HP. Forest Excise and Taxation Minister that documents of the vehicle of senior World Ban office were seized at the behest of SDM J.B Sharma He said the facts could be Verified from the record of police as well as from the challan book.
