BHOPAL: The Narmada Bachao Andola leader, Ms. Medha Patkar, was arrested and whisked away to hospital by the district authorities after she refused to end her 20 day old hunger strike in protest against the construction of Sardar* Sarovar dam despite her “deteriorating condition.” Three other NBA activist who were on a hunger strike since November21 were also arrested along with Patkar for apprehension of breach of peace, and admitted to the intensive care unit of the J P Hospital, here official sources told media persons.
