JAMMU: “Ms.Benazir Bhutto does not love Kashmiris but their blood and that is why she is shedding it on the streets of Srinagar. She has sent militants through backdoor to weaken India but we will send her hooligans back with Jock stock and barrel through the same door, but will not allow any. Body to weaken India.”
These views were expressed by former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and’ president of J&K National Conference KNC) Dr. Farooq Abdullah here on Dec.5. He was addressing a large gathering to commemorate the 90th birth anniversary of his father Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah, popularly known as Sher E Kashmir, in Zanana Park in Jammu.
Charging Pakistan of fighting a proxy war in Kashmir, he said that it was sending ‘boys’ to shed the blood of Kashmiris and destabilize India. “We are Indians and have already bidden farewell to Pakistan in 1947. We don’t want you (PAK) anymore,” Dr. Abdullah said.
He challenged Ms. Bhutto of stopping Kashmiri people from participating in elections. “‘Shehad said elections would not be allowed in Kashmir but we will show her how elections are fought.”
He, however, cautioned the people against Pakistan’s evil designs of creating panic among people through bomb blasts etc. Saying they (people) must keep a tight vigil over suspicious things and people as they might be the “boys” of Ms. Bhutto.
He said, Pakistan would try every method to disturb election process and step up its militants activities, “but we shall give it a fitting reply.”
He invited all the parties, including the Bhartiya Janata Party, to form a united front, to help a secular character in J&K. Dr. Abdullah said whoever was swearing by Pakistan while getting food shelter and huge salaries from India should be shown the door to Pakistan and thrown out of India.
He warned militants that they will not be spared after he comes to power saying these hooligans, rapists, looters will be produced before the people courts and punished severely. He said whoever talks of India is termed as “mukhbir” (Informer) by the militants while they themselves indulge in rape, loot and other heinous crimes and move around as so called Hizbul Mujahideen, Muslim Mujahideen & what not.
He charged militants of killing Moulvi Farooq, Dr Qazi Nissar and other leaders and said Hurriyat had promised to produce the killers before people within one month but so many months have passed and there is no clue of anybody, as the real killer was from Pakistan.
He said Dr. Abdullah ridiculed the militant type of *Nizam e mustafa’ of killing Kashmiri Pandits saying they forget that every Kashmiri is basically a Hindu converted to Islam not too long ago. He declared that nobody of his party wills every say “Pakistan Zindabad” even if hanged to death. Dr. Farooq warned Pakistan that its dream of getting Kashmir will meet the same fate as its three wars with India had met and asked it to forget about Kashmir.
Dr, Abdullah lashed out at All Party Huriyat Conference leader Syed Alli Shah Geelani’s invitation to Kashmiri Pandits to return, to Kashmir. He asked will Gelani return their burnt houses, looted property and the land that his “boys’ have divided among themselves. He said if Geelani was so keen to bring back Kashmiri Pandits, he should first build their houses. He added that these once millionaires were today forced to live like beggars in camps.
