Narasimha Rao, on Noy.13, launched a blistering attack on the “incapacity” of the Opposition to provide stability to the country and warned that unless the Congress rule in the Center and the states continued at least for 10 more years, the economic reforms will be jeopardy.

Accusing the Opposition parties of bringing the country to an economic ruin when they came to power a few years ago, he said “we cannot afford to fancy or try new parties at this crucial time.”

Recalling the days when two Opposition governments fell in a ‘space of one and half years, the Prime Minister said “that is the danger we face today if Opposition parties are given a chance.”

‘The two Opposition governments performed the miracle of bringing the Indian economy from the sky to zero, he said.

The Prime Minister said unfortunately some political parties were trying to divide the society on communal, religious and caste is lines. This could only weaken the society.

Rao said they were doing this because they had no economic program or anything to offer. Only the Congress had programs for all sections of the society, he said.
