Dear Editor,
It is reasonable to ask, why Prof. Manjit Singh is silent and indifferent towards the Sikhs” plight in Punjab. The murder of Sikh youth, rape of helpless women, kidnapping of professionals and abuse of innocent people should be sufficient reason for our reverend Jathedar to respond talking about justice and using one’s authority (Miri & Piri) to redress people’s grievances falls within the edicts of our Religion. Jathedar prefers to be used as a stick to beat Badal in Punjab on the behest of his mentor, Tohra. No doubt he is chief for them, who to Tohra’s line of action; East or West does not matter. In the context of his SGPC loyalty what model of Gurdwara Management, the learned Professor wants us to emulate? What has been done in Punjab to improve upon the quality of management of Gurdwaras? Mr. Harbans Singh wants US Sikhs to act dumb and ignorant by following a blind tradition, which limits the exercise of any form of rationality. The Council of Khalistan reserves the right to defend the Sikh interests. The role of Sikh Leadership is to analyze the political situation in Punjab and provide night guidance for change. Dr. Aulakh is just doing that. Gurdial Singh. Vallejo, CA.
