STOCKTON: TRACY,CA: Tracy’s freshman an, Richard Pombo was the honored guest ‘Speaker at Gurdwara Sahib Stockton on Sunday Get. 2. He told the large gathering of Sikh families of his efforts to support the issues of home and family that Sikhs hold dear.
Later at a private discussion with Some Of the local Sikh leaders he expressed his thoughts about the Human Rights situation in the Punjab and the results of a meeting that he recently had with the Indian Ambassador Mr. S.S. Ray.
Sunday evening he was the guest a fundraiser hosted by Dr. & Mrs. Gurinder Singh Grewal. Over 200 guests were treated to stimulating conversation and fine food at the Grewal’s Tracy home.
Mr. Pombo spoke of his agreement with the new G.O.P, plan of action to take hold in 1995. He also told the guests that, if elected, he would be taking a fact finding tiptop India next year, When asked about his feelings regarding California Governor Wilson’s veto of the “Kirpan” bill he expressed his disbelief and his intention to write for the governor concerning the issue.
