AMRITSAR: The Congress legislator from Tam Taran and former Punjab Transport Minister, Dilbagh Singh Daleke, has alleged that the relatives and cronies of the Minister of State for Rural Development and Panchayats, Master Jagir Singh, had tried to kidnap, two Sarpanchs close to him who were contesting the ongoing Panchayat Samiti elections. Addressing a press conference here, he warned that Master Jagir Singh was generating tension in the area and if the state government did not do something to restrain him, it would be responsible for the consequences, Dalcke who first revolted against the Panchayat minister for allegedly murdering democracy in the elections by riding roughshod over the electoral process, said the minister’s relative, Mukhtiar Singh of Pandori Golan along with the official gunmen provided to him by the government and some others, came to the residence of Satnam Singh, Sarpanchs of Khara village, and tried to forcibly take him away.

However, when the inmates of the house threatened to open fire on them, they fled the scene, he alleged.

He cautioned that if the minister’s men continued to take the law into their hands, he would not remain silent and his supporters would be forced to retaliate.
