JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir government is formulating a mechanism to provide security to religious places of worship in the State in view of the sensitive situation in the Kashmir valley and parts of Jammu division reports said,

Highly placed sources said this was necessitated, in view of the reports that Pakistan sponsored agencies and antinational elements were bent on exploiting these places of worship for creating communal tension in the state, The sources said while the government had already provided “necessary and reasonable” security to important shrines in the Valley and Jammu division, there was need to protect other shrines and temples which were left un guarded.
