NEW DELHI: Exchange of small arms and mortar fire continued for the third day between Pakistani and Indian forces in Keran sector which also spread to Bagnoi and Kirni sector in Poonch district in the border state of Jammu and Kashmir according to official sources here
The sources said that there was no loss of life on the Indian side in the exchange of fire which was intermittent.
According to reports from Jammu Pakistani troops opened unprovoked firing on Indian posts in Bagnoi in Mendhar district and in Kirni village in Poonch district which was the site of last week’s heavy exchanges resulting in casualty on either side.
The border skirmishes their pattern and design is being closely monitored by army headquarters here and the cabinet secretariat. Military experts here feel that with the advent of winter “Pakistan was getting desperate to push in an estimated five to six thousand militants who have been camping close to the line of actual control waiting for a chance to sneak in.”
