In an encounter security forces shot dead four militants including two area commanders Gurmit Singh and Gurmel Singh of Khalistan Liberation Force (Deepa group) at Ramgarh village in Ferozepore district on Sunday evening. The remaining two militants were yet to be identified.
An AK-47 rifle an AK-56 rifle a 12 bore gun a 38 bore revolver five kg explosives and four detonators were recovered from the encounter site.
Known militant Kamaljit Singh alias Ambi area commander of Bhindranwale Tiger Force of Khalistan (Sangha group) and his two associates identified as Harbhajan Singh and Raghbir Singh were shot dead in an encounter with security forces at Bange Raghu village in Bhatinda district early on Sunday morning.

Two pistols of different bores and some cartridges were recovered from the spot. Two scooter-borne men gunned down sarpanch Prem Nath Uppal at Chaheru village in Kapurthala district on Sunday morning while he was busy making arrangements for a sports and cultural meet in the village.
One militant was arrested in Majitha police district and two were nabbed in Ropar district. Some arms and ammunition were recovered from them.
Two security personnel were injured when their vehicle was blown up in a powerful bomb blast near Beri village in Gurdaspur district Sunday. The injured were identified as head constable Darshan. Masih and home guard Constable Som Nath.
Balwinder Singh an independent candidate from Tarn Taran parliamentary constituency and his brother Bhagwant Singh were arrested by Lopoke police in Majitha police district under Sections 162 163 and 420 of the IPC.
