BHUBANSEWAR: BIJP vice president Kishen Lal Sharma has said that no deadline had been fixed for the construction of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya but the party wanted it to be constructed “as early as possible”.
Replying to questions at a press conference here on Friday Sharma stated that before constructing the temple at Ayodhya the BJP government there was taking steps to discuss with all the parties concerned about the kind of law needed to be enacted to “remove the possible impediments” in this regard.
In this context he said that “every party had accepted that a law could be enacted relating to places of worship.”
When a newsperson asked if the Ram Temple at Ayodhya would be constructed before the expiry of the term of the present up assembly Sharma replied “five years is a long period it could be constructed much before that”.
The dispute over a site that the Hindus claim housed a Ram Temple while the Muslims claim is a mosque site has perplexed all.
