LONDON: Leader of Sri Lankan Tamil militant Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Sathasivam Krishnakumar alias Commander Kit has left Britain following rejection of his Asylum application by the British government and is believed to have gone underground somewhere in France to avoid deportation to Sri Lanka.

The British home office told PTI that Kittu left Britain for the country of his choice immediately after his Asylum application was rejected on August 21, 1991 by the home secretary.

The authorities allowed him to leave Britain as per the deportation order a home office spokesperson said.

According to spokesman for the LTTE in London Kittu was currently in a European country.
