CHANDIGARH: The panthic committee associated with Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal has disowned Manjit Singh’s agreement with Simranjit Singh Mann on forming a united political front.
In a statement circulated here the committee said that it did not support any opportunist alliance and was opposed the recent tie-up with Simranjit Singh Mann.
The panthic committee it may be recalled announced some time ago that the AISSF (Manjit) was its “political wing” and gave it permission to contest the elections to the State Assembly and Indian Parliament.
Meanwhile Sikh Youth Front floated some time ago by Prof Darshan Singh announced its merger in to the AISSF (Manjit). According to Gurkirpal Singh and Amarjit Singh who spoke for the front it has been necessitated by the stepped up police repression of the Sikhs.
Balbir Singh Begowal who described himself as acting president of the Sikh Youth Front International denied the front had been dissolved and merged into the AISSF (Manjit).
