JAIPUR: Janata Dal leader Ajit Singh said the BJP should be declared anti-national for what he called its communal electioneering.
Ajit Singh alleged that the BJP openly campaigned in the name of religion and flared the flames of communalism
He said although the top leaders of the BJP carefully worded their election speeches the activists of pro-BJP organisations like the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad minced no words to gain votes in the name of religion
Ajit’s statement comes at a time when the single largest opposition party is boycotting the parliamentary proceedings following remarks of tourism minister Madhavrao Scindia calling BJP desh drohi (traitors).
Ajit said the BJP leaders on several occasions did not refrain to use the same language against former Prime Minister V.P.Singh and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav during the elect in campaign.
He said the BJP should not be allowed to rule anywhere in the country as it did not believe in secularism
Meanwhile V.P.Singh Sunday appealed to the BJP that it should not insist on boycott of the Lok Sabha anymore.
Commenting on the Boycott by BJP of the house over Scindia’s remarks against the party Singh said in New Delhi now that the BJP had abstained from the house for three days on the move it should not insist on boycott anymore.
He however charged the BJP with pursuing policies leading to emotional divide that is detrimental to the unity of the country.
