HISAR: An all-party meeting at historic Kotla Ramlila here on Saturday night through two unanimous resolutions condemned the excesses committed by the Bhajan Lal regime due to political vendetta and vowed to fight him out.
The meeting held with veteran freedom fighter and Congress-1 leader Balwant Rai Tayal in the chair was addressed among others by the Haryana Vikas Party president Bansi Lal a former chief minister three former members of parliament Ram Kishan Gupta Mani Ram Bagri and Mani Ram Godara and a host of legislators former ministers and ex-MLAs All HVP legislators except the bed-ridden Om Prakash Sharma were present on the dais along with the party MP Jangbir Singh.
The meeting organized by the committee formed on the truck union issue evoked good response despite inclement weather
The first resolution said that several Harijan families of Badopal Khajuri and Mohammad pur villages which were closely linked to the chief minister Bhajan Lal had been compelled by his men to flee. A shopkeeper of Hisar had been booked under a false case by some relations of the chief minister in order to make him vacate his shop while there was an alempt to implicate a former sarpanch of Mohammadpur Rohi ancestral village of Bhajan Lal in a cooked up case. The resolution sought to bring it to the notice of the President the Prime Minister the Governor and the chief minister that these incidents were born of political vendetta and promoted lawlessness.
The second resolution flayed the harassment of industrialists and traders through the tuck union and appealed to the President and the Prime Minister to intervene in the matter and take action against truck union leaders and the officers who helped them
Bansi Lal said that he planned speaking against the Bhajan Lal government only after it had worked for at least a year. However the vindictive attitude of the government towards his party MLA from here Om Prakash Jindal and excesses against other industrialist’s waders and Harijans had compelled him to come into the open to challenge him. He asked the chief minister to desist from such actions or face a fierce opposition from him.
He mocked at the pre-poll promise of Bhajan Lal to improve law and order within 15 days of assumption of chief minister ship and said that if this was the improvement one wondered what worse the situation would be. The fact was that Bhajan Lal had surpassed Om Prakash Chautala he added. Criticizing the role of the district police chief in the truck union matters and other cases Bansi Lal observed that he should keep the fate of the police officers involved in Meham cases in mind. As was well known he was not in the habit of pardoning people.
While Mani Ram Bagri condemned the bid to oust a local trader from his shop Mani Ram Godara offered to teach a lesson to truck union people. Three Harjan legislators of the HYP Amar Singh Dhanak Pir Chand and Lehri Singh flayed the atrocities on Harjans and said that no government which failed to protect the downtrodden could stay for long.
Hari Singh Saini a former minister and Janata Dal leader said that people had got disenchanted with the present govt in no time and that was enough to language its popularity.
