SACRAMENTO: Dr Gurcharan Singh Dhillon President of W.S.0 appealed to the Nations of the world especially the U.S.A to put pressure on the Govt of India through economic sanctions to stop Human Rights Violations. He was speaking at Gurdwara Sahib Sacramento on the function July 28 marking the 7th anniversary of WSO and the eighth anniversary of the gurdwara. He also requested the foreign media to visit India and see for themselves the atrocities committed on minorities especially the Sikhs. World Sikh Organization is committed to the establishment of Khalistan he added Dr. Dhillon further said that there is no bar to send economic aid to the freedom movements so the Sikhs should not be afraid of sending financial aid to the Sikh struggle

The occasion was marked by complete unity of the W.S.O. and the Federation After the Bhog of Akhand Paths the Sangat enjoyed the melodious kirtan by Bhai Joga Singh and his Jatha Which was followed by speakers interspersed by Shabad Kirtan.

Bhai Dhanna Singh ex-member of the first Panthic Committee congratulated W.S.0 & W.S.N. for their role in the Sikh Struggle. He appealed to every Sikh to extend their financial support for freedom struggle. Dr. Harpal Singh described briefly the history of the struggle and also appealed for financial support to the movement Inder Singh Manager W.S.N. told the audience that World Sikh News is the only English Sikh Paper which reaches Congressmen of U.S.A. members of Parliament of Canada & England and is being quoted in their respective Houses. WSN has preferred economic hardship by publishing human rights violations stories rather than printing film reviews and photographs of beauty queens and film stars to sell the paper.

S Jagjit Singh Boparai cautioned against the future policy of killing Sikh youth by the present govt S Boparai regretted the deep slumber in which the Sikh women are at present and requested them to wake up and wake up and join their brothers in the movement.

Stressing on the need of developing the Sikh media S. Amrik S Gill said that because of the absences of strong media Sikhs who are honest loyal and hardworking citizens have been overnight labeled as terrorists & separatists. He further said that it was due to powerful media only that Baltic States of Russia and states of Yugoslavia and South Africa got attention of the world S .Narinder Singh Somal Secretary World Sikh News with a voice choked with emotion pledged that as long as there was a roof over our heads we will not let publication of World Sikh News be stopped.
