AHMEDBAD: Two more persons were killed in Bharuch and another in Jambusar district town Wednesday taking the death toll in continued Hindu, Muslim strife in Gujarat to 36.
The trouble started with group clashes on Tuesday last on the day of Muharrum.
According to reports reaching here, four persons were killed in Bharuch town—two in police firing to prevent group clashes and two others in stabbing—while three persons were killed in Jambusar, Both towns have been placed under indefinite curfew since Tuesday last.
An auto rickshaw driver was stabbed to death in Sujitra town of Kheda district Wednesday, where night curfew continued after group Clashes, police said.
Meanwhile, indefinite curfew in Baroda city, where riots had claimed nine lives, continued to remain in force with peace prevailing on the third day Thursday,
