Over the week 186 persons were killed in Punjab.
Nine militants were also arrested with arms and ammunition in the state during this period.
Two Sevadars of Gurdwara Dera Baba Barbhag Singh were taken out and killed near Bhagivand village of Bathinda district. Govt controlled ‘Black Cats’ forcibly took Bant Singh, brother of the Gurdwara Granthi and another person Kaka Singh, out of the Gurdwara and shot them dead.
Four militants and a home guard were among 20 people killed while six militants were arrested July 21.

A report from the holy city of Amritsar said the bullet-ridden body of Mehtab Singh alias Nammialias Ravail Singh was found near Fettupecla village in Amritsar district Saturday.

Plot to Kill Seshan denied
The Punjab Police denied as “baseless and a figment of imagination” a report in a section of the Press, that a plot to assassinate the Chief Election Commissioner T.N ,Seshan had been uncovered following the arrest of two Babbar Khalsa militants recently. None of the arrested militants had made such a disclosure, the Punjab Police clarified in a release.
