NEW DELHI: The death toll in the current wave of floods and rains in states of Assam and Gujarat rose to 35 Monday as the swollen rivers continued their depredations inundating fresh areas. Thirteen people were killed in the floods in the eastern state of Assam. Four of them were drowned in South Salmara Mankachar, two in Negarbera and one in Bilaspara in the Brahmaputra valley, reports from Guwahati. The state capital said.
In Western Gujarat state, one person was struck dead by lightning in Junagarh district taking the toll in the current rains in the state of 22.
