POTOMAC MD: Local Sikhs gathered at residence of Drs.P.S.Ajrawat at Potomac. The Sikhs assembled there have a dream a dream of liberty and dignity when the Sikhs will have Khalistan their very own homeland.
It was an occasion to express their heartfelt appreciation and to raise funds for their friends Honorable Congressman Dan Burton and Gurmit Singh Aulakh-of Council of Khalistan who are doing their utmost to help realize this dream of the Sikhs.
Master Sartaj Singh Ajrawat sang the Star spangled banner’ and Oath of Allegiance to the U.S. flag. Dr.P.S.Ajrawal the host a specialist and pioneer in pain medicine as well an enthusiastic worker for the Sikh community welcomed the guests and introduced the chief guest-Congressman Dan Burton. Dr. Ajrawat expressed his deep gratitude on behalf of the Sikh community to Mr Burton for raising his voice in U.S. Congress against atrocities committed by Indian Government in violation of the human rights of the Sikhs He said Congressman Burton has been a leading figure in our task to bring the movement for Sikh Independence to the attention of U.S. Congress the American people and the international community at large. S. Kashmir Singh a local zealous Sikh activist welcomed the Congressman and said Thanks to persistent efforts of people like Dan Burton we are almost at the doorstep of Khalistan.
Dr.Rajwant Singh a young Sikh leader whose work in American community through Inter-Faith is well known said Honorable Dan Burton is working for the Sikhs and other minorities being persecuted because of his courage of conviction inspite of heavy pressure on him from Indian Govt. Citing the example of Soviet Republics and Yugoslavia Dr.Singh added that it is high time America stepped forward to help other minorities win their freedom.
Congressman Dan Burton graciously accepted support of the Sikh community and thanked them all as well his staff. He remarked that he would love to go to Khalistan one day.
Dr. Sukveen K. Ajrawat thanked all for their time efforts and participation in honoring friends of the Sikh community.
