Sir,

Are the proponents of the Respect for Human Rights helping tyrant heads of states in perpetrating the violation of those Rights? ‘This is the question being asked by many Sikhs today.

Sikh Gurus and the Sikhs have struggled for five centuries and made unique sacrifices to uphold and protect the Rights of the oppressed. As Sikhs we are duty bound to defend the weak and innocent against tyranny and oppression. Today we hear an echo of a verse by Guru Gobind Singh in the preamble of the Declaration of Human Rights by the United Nations in Dec.1948.

Human Rights commissions of UN are manned and operated by those who have vested interests in protecting the very governments they are supposed to impose for the violation of Human Rights They are great instruments of camouflaging the brutal torture and killings by the state governments democratic or otherwise.

In 1961 Peter Benenson put forth an idea to free the forgotten political prisoners and gained the term ‘Prisoners of Conscience. Two opposing powers Kennedy and Krushchey supported this cause and Amnesty International progressed to an enormous organization with 4000 groups in several countries The days of forgotten Prisoners are gone the tyrant states have adopted new methods. They do not keep prisoners for long. They just secretly torture them to kill and eliminate.

The Indian government has effectively banned Al to enter Punjab to investigate persecution although AI has been successful in penetrating the iron curtain countries and Sadam’s Kuwait to bring out stories of oppression but they are helpless against a false democracy to persuade them to let investigate the ghastly brutal torture and killing that is going on through state terrorism in Punjab for almost a decade.

Al has issued a Report (May 101991) on “Human Rights violation in Punjab use and abuse of the law”. This report is not even the tip of the iceberg of state terrorism that is going on very intensively for a decade now. Powerful governments of the world have been shamelessly supporting a tyrant Hindu government and helping them directly and indirectly to continue crimes against the Sikhs. The Hindu Policy “Bagal Men Chhurim Muh Men Ram Ram” (a dagger hidden in the armpit and posing as a highly Religious person) is equally practiced by other hypocrites of the world.

If Al is not allowed in Punjab it should publish thousands of published cases of torture and killings by the Indian government say they want to investigate these cases.
