NEW DELHI: The Election Commission ordered repoll in 40 polling stations in four parliamentary constituencies in Bihar and West Bengal in the wake of booth capturing and violence.

The repoll will be taken in all the booths on May 22 deputy election commissioner D S Bagga said here.

Bagga said the largest number of repolls ordered were in Chapra parliamentary constituency in Bihar followed by four in Siwan in the same state He said three booths in Siwan were affected by booth capturing an I the other by violence.

The commission had also ordered repoll in two booths in Asansol in West Bengal and Purneain Bihar. He said the repoll in the booths in Purnca were ordered by the returning officer while complaints in some other booths were under verification.

Bagga said reports of booth capturing had been received from Patna Jehanabad Purnea Arrvah and Sitamarhi in Bihar. They were under investigation he said.

Reports of impersonation were received from Arabia Ranchi and Jamshedpur (all in Bihar) and were also being investigated.
