DELHI: Vedbrata Baruah former federal Minister resigned from the Congress-I and joined the Janata Dal.
Talking to reporters at the Janata Dal office here Baruah accused the Congress-I of engineering conflict and violence in the northeastern Indian state of Assam and said the party “believed in and acted for dividing the Assamese people.”
Baruah who was a minister of state in Indira Gandhi’s cabinet said social change social justice and integrity were the main issues before the country and added that the Janata Dal led by Vishwanath Pratap Singh alone was fighting for these causes.
