NEW DELHI: The former external affairs minister Mr.1K.Gujral will contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha poll from Patna.
The central election committee (CEC) of the Janata Dal which has been scrutinizing list of candidates from various states cleared the name of Mr. Gujral from Patna party sources said.
Mr.Gujral represented Jalandhar constituency in the Ninth Lok Sabha.
The Congress-I will field Dr C P Thakur from Patna BJP Dr Shailendranath Shrivastav while Janata Dal-S is fielding the union finance minister Mr Yashwant Sinha a report from Patna said.
Janata Dal sources said that the CEC had almost completed lists of candidates for Uttar Pradesh Maharashtra and Bihar. The lists would be released after the return of Mr. V.P Singh here. Mr Singh has gone to Fatehpur to file his nomination.
They said that the CEC had also renominated the former welfare minister Mr.Ram Vilas Paswan from Hajipur which had returned him with a record margin to last time
