NEW DELHI: At least 25 Indian Air-Force personnel and three crew members were feared killed when their Avro aircraft crashed soon after taking off from the Yelahanka a:cport near Bangalore Monday morning.
According to the air force headquarters here the aircraft crashed soon after it was airborne
Ambulances and fire tenders were rushed to the site and efforts were being made to rescue any injured personnel.
An earlier report from Bangalore had said that there were 25 people on board the aircraft mostly pilot trainees but air force authorities refused to divulge the exact number of people onboard.
This is the second major air crash at the Bangalore airport in just over a year. Last year in February an Indian Airlines airbus A 320 crashed while approaching the airport for landing killing 92 people and injuring.
