Sir,
After complete destruction of Iraq total humiliation and immeasurable loss of life Sadam Hussain has finally agreed to all the terms and conditions of the UN resolutions an act he could have done just a few months ago with full honor and without any loss of life OF property.
But that wouldn’t have been his style. Because such an action would have been devoid of his official “arrogance and stupidity”
Similar to Iraq we in India do not have any shortage of Sadam Hussains who in their arrogance and stupidity do not give a hoot for the extent of sufferings they inflict on the common man. Indira Gandhi succeeded by Rajiv Gandhi V.P.Singh and now Chandra Shekhar is a good line of succession of Indian Sadams who have handled the then Punjab and now the Khalistan problem with no lesser a stupidity and arrogance.
Closing their eyes to the writing on the wall they still are trying to convince the masses that the Khalistan problem is a “law and order” problem and not a political one and hence the only solution in their imagination is through atrocities and killings of innocent young men in false encounters or otherwise.
Looking at the charter of demands of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale one very easily realizes that the trivial demands in the charter for inquiries and punishment of corrupt police and public officials was nothing more than a cry for justice. However instead of meeting the just demands and being thankful to Sant Bhidrawala for bringing such a situation to the Government’s notice Indira Gandhi chose the path of confrontation. In her arrogance she chose to reply the Punjabis with an attack on the Harminder Sahib an act which laid the including her own and that of Sant Jarnail Silngh Bhindrawala. A classic example of Hussain syndrome.
Succeeding Indira Gandhi because of the sympathy vote and mass disinformation her son Rajiv won a land slide victory. He had a golden chance to solve the problem. But who was interested in the solution? Walking in the footsteps of his mother and upholding the Hussain syndrome with passion he too chose the path of confrontation by intensifying the atrocities and killing of the innocents. The results as expected were a disaster.
After Rajiv’s debacle V.P.Singh started with an image of Mr. Honest on the outside. However being a Hussain inside him too chose confrontation instead of reconciliation meeting with results similar to those of his predecessors.
That brings us to Mr. Chandra Shekhar who being a puppet of the Senior Hussain Rajiv Gandhi has appointed O.P. Malhotra as the Punjab Governor so that the policy of confrontation and atrocities can be followed with an intensified vigour.
When Hussain annexed Kuwait he did not have much choice but to get out when the world community asked him to leave. However in his stupidity and arrogance he chose to hang on thinking that he will be able to stop the wheels of history from turning. Well after going through the disaster hopefully he must have found the reality.
Similarly because of debacle after debacle the present day Indian Government does not seem to be left with much choice in case of the Khalistan problem. They can choose the path of “reconciliation” and have a friendly Khalistan with no further loss of life or property or they can continue on the path of “confrontation and atrocities” and a few years later after extensive loss of life and property or even India end up with an enemy Khalistan north of them.
Choice is theirs to make. However in all humility they are not expected to choose anything but “Confrontation” just like Sadam did!
