NEW DELHI-Bomb scares Tuesday disrupted work at the British high commission and Tis Hazari courts in the capital for some time.
While the British high commission received bomb threats on telephone a container lying inside a bathroom in the court building caused a scare there.
The bomb disposal squad evacuated the high commission building around 1300 hours (IST) following two telephone calls saying bombs had been planted in the high commission. Squad members and the high commission security staff searched the building but found nothing a high commission spokesman said.
Elsewhere at the Tis Hazari courts police officials and the bomb disposal squad searched the building for two hours.
About 45 people were injured and a young journalist lost his life when a bomb exploded outside the capital’s session’s court recently. A tragedy was averted Monday evening with the timely detection and subsequent diffusion of three crude bombs in East Delhi.
