HYDERABAD: Punjab made a clean sweep of the team events to emerge overall champions at the 15th National Sports Festival for Women which concluded here.
Besides claiming the gold in Hockey volleyball basketball kabaddi and table tennis Punjab also took the silver in gymnastics team championship to lead the table with 33 points. Hosts Andhra Pradesh (21 pts) took the second spot and West Bengal (17 pts) third.
Tamil Nadu took the honors in athletic events with an overall tally of 80 while Karnatake resigned Supreme in the swimming section with an incredulous 99 points $5 points more than second placed West Bengal.
