CALCUTTA: A group of Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) militants has reportedly spread into industrial areas of Bihar and West Bengal to raise funds according to informed sources here.
The sources said the three militants who were killed in Purulia district were believed to be members of the group and responsible for the killing of the Dhanbad SP.
The sources said militants had fanned out in several parts of the country.
The sources said members of the militant group had already established contacts at Jamshedpur Ranchi Dhanbad and Bokaro in Bihar and in the Durgapur Panagarh Asansol and Raniganj areas of West Bengal.
The militants who were killed in Purulia were reportedly going towards Jamshedpur When challenged by a police patrol at Balrampur they killed two constables.
Besides their operations at Dhanbad and Purulia the militants killed a business man in an industrial area of Burdwan district (West Bengal) last month.
They were reportedly collecting subscriptions from business men at Panagarh and Durgapur in the name of Khalistan.
A document seized from one of the militants killed in Purulia encounter had revealed that he was related to a former Army officer the sources said.
Meanwhile the West Bengal Government has decided to set up an action group to fight the highly trained militants in the state.
