Sir,
It has been brought to my notice that literature has been produced in India and abroad seeking to crode the independent identity of the Sikh religion and the veracity of its institutions including the Amrit ceremony the Sikh Rahit authenticity of Guru Granth Sahib vesting of Gurushipin Guru Granth Sahib etc. It is unfortunate that such literature is being produced by scholars like Dr W.H. McLeod and Dr H.S. Oberoi who is occupying Chairs of Sikh Studies established with contributions from the Sikh community at Toronto and Vancouver respectively.
It is therefore necessary that Sikh Sangats in India and abroad not only remain aware of such motivated and misleading propaganda but also take effective steps to controvert it. They should also refrain from extending any help and cooperation to them and their organisations.
Further | call upon scholars having faith in the Gurus and the uniqueness of Gurmat to endeavor in every manner to expose such misrepresentations and un-hold the authenticity of the Sikh religion and its institutions.
