CHANDIGARH: A top militant Bhai Hardev Singh was among the six people killed on Jan 27.
Bhai Hardev Singh alias Deba who carried a reward of Rs one lakh on his head was killed in an encounter in village Kot Dharma Chand in Tarn Taran district.
Elsewhere two militants and 7 security-men were among five persons killed while militants snatched eight rifles provided under village defence scheme.
The Border Security Force men forced some Pakistani infiltrators to flee back to other side of the border after a fierce encounter and recovered arms and ammunition from them.
Bhai Hardey Singh of the Babbar Khalsa was involved in about 35 ambushes on police vehicles in the past two years Narinder Pal SSP Tarn Taran said.
Over the week 83 persons were killed in the state.
