SAN JOSE: A sizeable contingent of Bay Area Sikhs gathered here outside the venue of an Indian Republic day function on January 26. They raised slogans demanding freedom and an end to the severe repression let loose by India.
S Bhajan Singh Bhinder a community leader said their protest was to bring to the notice of the world the plight of Sikhs in India.
The Indian ambassador to the USA was the chief guest at the function.
