NEW DELHI: The state-run five star luxury Ashok hotel Jan 25th threw its doors open to the rural folk with the opening of ethnic Indian restaurant chaupal by deputy prime minister Devi Lal.
“It is a republic day gift to the people from the villages” was Devi Lal’s comment as he opened the restaurant aptly named “chaupal” (village common ground) which reflects the typical Indian rural environment.
