CHANDIGARH: The Punjab governor Gen O P Malhotra (Retd) on Jan 11 called upon the people to strengthen the hands of the government to fight the growing militancy in the state PTI reports.
Addressing village elders here Gen Malhotra said the main force of Punjab was in the villages and sought their cooperation for tackling the law and order situation The governor said the first priority before the government today was to restore peace and normalcy in the state.
He said he hoped the people of the state would come forward to strengthen the government to restore peace.
