CHANDIGARH: Indias Commerce Minister Subramanium Swamy issued a threat to Lok Sabha Speaker Rabi Ray that he might be arrested in the event of certain ruling party members being declared disqualified to the membership of the lower house by him under the anti-defection law.
Swamy’s threat created a big furore in the Lok Sabha for two days as opposition members asked for his dismissal. Swamy later submitted an unqualified apology and the Speaker declared that the row had blown over.
